An introverted closed-open box house turning around a double-height, skylit courtyard.
Concept
An introverted, closed-open box house felt the holistic response to the client's concerns and desires. The house happens around a centrally located, double-height skylit courtyard, with a second courtyard at the first-floor south-east corner, opening the home to light and cross-ventilation across the floors.
Connection
The two courtyards connect the house vertically and horizontally, tying the floors together through visual links, so that light and air move freely while the box stays quiet and inward from the street.
